Rev. William Metzger, Pastor
Pastor Bill was born in Chicago Heights, IL, and grew up in Matteson, IL, where he graduated from Rich South High School.
He attended Concordia University in Milwaukee (where he met his wife, LaVonne) and transferred, graduating from Concordia
University in St. Paul, MN. He then attended Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO, graduating in 1983. Bill and LaVonne
are blessed with two daughters, a son-in-law, and two grandchildren. |

Jean Hoger, Preschool/Kindergarten Director
Jean Hoger serves as director of the preschool and kindergarten.
She teaches a class of 3-year-olds on Tuesday/Thursday mornings
and a class of 4-year-olds on Monday/Wednesday/Friday mornings.
Jean began teaching preschool in 1984 at St. John Lutheran School
in Ocala, FL. She has been at Holy Cross since 1994.

Tania Gibson, Contemporary Worship Director
Tania grew up in Barrington and has served on numerous worship teams in Illinois, Texas, Missouri and even Canada.
She has been a singer since the age of 4 and has spent more than 15 years in professional training. Tania runs
her own vocal studio and is a songwriter as well. Her passion is worship and offering a worship setting that brings
others into a place of worship. Tania has three children: Hana, Hunter, and Heidi. |

Denise Fuelling, Parish Administrator
As Parish Administrator, Denise handles the day-to-day operations
of Holy Cross. She holds undergraduate degrees in psychology and
mental health and a master’s degree in business administration.
Her husband’s job transferred them from Michigan to Illinois
in 2006. Her father is a retired LCMS pastor.
