These volunteer ministries are just as important as the other ministries and are a great way to get involved, make new friends, and grow in your faith while serving as well. We have a wide range of ministry opportunities. Whether you'd like to learn more, pray more, engage more, or serve more, we have a ministry for you. Usher Ministry
Ushers seek to provide a staff of individuals whose primary purpose is to guide and serve parishioners, as well as support the Pastors and Elders before, during, and after church services.

OWLS Ministry
Older Wiser Lutheran Seniors (OWLS). The OWLS Ministry provides fellowship for Holy Cross members that serves the purpose of enjoyment and spiritual growth among attendees, stimulating activities, opportunities to take day trips, and find different ways to support all the ministries of Holy Cross.

Human Care Ministry
The Human Care Ministry provides support for the physical, emotional, and psychological welfare of the members of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and those in our community. We provide information, assistance and organize as needed to promote Christian fellowship and wellbeing. We also arrange activities that bring people together under the banner of God’s love and care which encourages participants to grow in grace, love, and service in Christ’s name.

Prayer Shawl Ministry
Prayer Shawl Ministry is an organization of the national LWML (Lutheran Women in Mission) that meets twice a month for Bible study and needlework. By collecting our mites (small monetary donations) we support the mission projects of the national and district LWML organization. Our Bible studies are often taken from Lutheran Women’s Quarterly, the national LWML publication.
Our needlework provides shawls, lap robes, blankets, hats, scarfs and mittens to be given away to anyone in need of comfort or celebration of events in their lives. These items convey the warmth of God’s love for each recipient. They are made and dedicated with prayer.
